DESCRIPTION:<p>Implicit bias has gained national attention, but what is implicit bias and how does it show up in our lives and communities? Join us as we explore ways we can reduce implicit bias in order to create healthy and inclusive communities.</p><p>We will examine the ways our brain naturally perceives, sorts, and creates inferences about people and what conditions can cause our biases to manifest. Then we'll learn practical steps we can all take to reduce our bias and ways to increase our capacity for bridging and belonging across our communities. For adults.</p><p>Presented by Janet Rene Damon, Ed.S, MLIS:</p><p>Janet Rene Damon, Ed.S, MLIS, is a literacy engagement activist who has worked to empower families and communities through inclusive programming, cultural strategy, and inclusive workshops that center belonging and bridging. She is an educator with over twenty years of experience working with students and families as a history teacher, librarian, and literacy consultant.
