DESCRIPTION:<p>Join the Museum on October 6th at 7 PM for this in-person program celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day and working towards a better understanding of Indigenous history in the Louisville area. Fort Chambers was one of the staging grounds for the 1864 Sand Creek Massacre. <a href="https://friendspeaceteams.org/trr/">Right Relationship Boulder</a> is advocating for Cheyenne and Arapaho people to determine how to memorialize this history and site. This program will take place in the Louisville Public Library Meeting Room. <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fort-chambers-tickets-164329103773?aff=ebdsoporgprofile" target="_blank">Registration is requested.</a></p><p>Right Relationship Boulder volunteers Paula Palmer, Christine Quinlan, and Tim Harmos will narrate a slide presentation about the connections between the Boulder Valley and the Sand Creek Massacre, followed by a presentation about the Louisville connections by Louisville Historical Museum staff. Then the floor will be opened to discussion.</p><p>This is an indoor, in-person program at the Louisville Public Library. Currently, masks are required in all indoor public settings in Boulder County for everyone age 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status.
