Meet your new Mayor

Post Date:12/03/2019 11:42 AM

Mayor Stolzmann

Mayor Ashley Stolzmann was sworn in as Louisville's Mayor on November 19.

First of all, thank you. It is truly an honor to be elected Mayor of such an incredible city.

Although I have represented the residents of Ward 3 on City Council for six years, I know that serving as Mayor brings new responsibilities of consensus building and leadership – and I am up to the challenge. I look forward to working with City Council members to protect, preserve, and enhance the quality of life in our community.

Having spoken to so many of you recently about your priorities and concerns, I am starting my tenure as Mayor with a clear focus on economic vitality and environmental sustainability.

Our vibrant business community

Louisville has a vibrant and active business community and a population which supports that community. It was great to see so many people dining and shopping in Louisville this past weekend for Small Business Saturday. I want to make sure that the City continues to foster and enhance its business community and I look forward to working with the City Manager Heather Balser and the City’s new Economic Vitality Director Megan Pierce to further these goals.

New renewable energy and carbon emission reduction goals

Sustainability is a priority for the residents of Louisville, and so City Council adopted the City’s new renewable energy and carbon emission reduction goals in August. Our goals are ambitious, but they are the right direction for Louisville. The City is going to accomplish one of the goals ahead of schedule by achieving 100% renewable electricity in all city facilities starting in January.

Get in touch

The City Council and I remain fully committed to open government, and we want to hear from you. I encourage you to get in touch, attend City meetings, and sign up for the City’s communications.

I look forward to meeting you soon.
