COVID-19 Survey Update

Community Responses and more

Post Date:07/30/2020 2:00 PM

In early April, the Museum asked for your help documenting local experiences with COVID-19. Since then, Museum staff have been honored by the twenty-five honest reflections we have received and by your willingness to share your thoughts, fears, and hopes. The Museum’s collection efforts, however, did not end with the stay at home order. The project continues to gather local reflections on the past two months and, moving forward as we adapt to “safer at home.” You can find the COVID-19 Experience Kit and Survey on the History at Home page on the Museum’s website.

Thank you for trusting us to collect your stories of loneliness, humor, fear, and compassion. Here’s a sampling of the data and reflections that we have received so far

1. When asked how they feel about working from home, it seems many Louisvillians are adapting.

2. When faced with this crisis, local community members assembled to meet the need.

“As of today we have donated over 2260 masks. The makers, as I call them, have made more and donated more than that. We want to flatten the curve so our group is donating our time to make masks and surgical caps."

                                                     - Wendy Lothian-Podesta, Louisville, CO Mask Project

3.When asked how they are handling staying at home, different age groups varied.
